Kids Club Attendant – Pine Lake

Part Time/Full Time: $16 – $18/hr

Position Summary:

15 – 20hrs/week – Weekdays 8:30am – 12pm

The Kids Club Attendant is responsible for providing safe and quality plan for children while parents use the Columbia Athletic Club.  This position requires constant care and attention to the children.  The Kids Club Attendant assures that the children and room are safe and clean.  The Kids Club Attendant must enjoy and appreciate young children.  Performance of this position is reviewed in terms of their ability to positively interact with children and members, maintain control over the Kids Club room and children, and handle paperwork accurately.

Critical Success Factors:

  • Provide total care and welfare to the children in the Kids Club room.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness of the Kids Club room.
  • Impart constant and positive supervision, attention, and interaction with the children.
  • Pay close attention to the special needs and discipline of the children.
  • Watching the general health of the children and reporting unusual matters to the parent or supervisor.
  • Organize and process paperwork accurately and efficiently.

Essential Duties:

  • Keep the Kids Club room safe, picked up and organized.
  • Keep the Kids Club room free of any sharp or hazardous objects.
  • Play with children including reading, drawing, and games.
  • Hold children and comfort them as necessary.
  • Keep orderly and positive interaction between children.
  • Discipline children when required.
  • Alert parents when child needs special attention or cannot interact with other children in a constructive manner.
  • Check each child for signs of ill health.
  • Remove ill children from Kids Club room.
  • Keep toys clean and disinfected.
  • Vacuum Kids Club room as needed.
  • Keep Kids Club room and toys updated.
  • Make sure child is returned to proper parent.
  • Handle reservations and schedule for Kids Club.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance.
  • Keep accurate records of amounts owed by members.
  • Follow all rules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills And Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of general childcare techniques.
  • Knowledge of health and safety precautions concerning children.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and healthful environment.
  • Ability to relate to and entertain children.
  • Ability to develop rapport with parents showing concern and attention to any special care requirement.


  • Baby-sitting/child care experience in a group setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work lovingly and positively with children
  • CPR certified.
  • Flexible to work varied schedule
  • Minimum age: 15yrs old
