Functional Movement Screen PLUS Corrective exercise prescription

In order to design an effective and comprehensive program, a fitness specialist must take you through a fitness assessment. These assessments typically consist of blood pressure, body composition, girth measurements and periodically muscular strength/endurance. The next phase in corrective training is taking the fitness assessment to the next level in assesses an individuals’ movement pattern and compensations.

Many individuals suffer from recurrent sprains, chronic low-back pain, knee/shoulder injuries, neck pain and the list goes on, but not be able to identify the cause of the pain. Often these conditions are due to muscle imbalances either below or above the joint of concern. Aches and pains that are all too common are many times simply due to repetitive incorrect movement patterns. The result is common muscular imbalances and repetitive stress symptoms. The functional movement screen will identify the weak link and as fitness professionals we are able to design a corrective program. This will be your first step into becoming pain free!
Fee: $300 (included is full body assessment to identify muscle imbalances, asymmetries and dysfunction in the body and two private sessions to go over mobility, myofascial release, stability and strength exercises to address dysfunctions found).

Trigger Point Myofascial Compression Therapy

What are trigger points and how can trigger point compression therapy help?

Trigger Points are tiny knots that develop in a muscle when it is injured or overworked. These triggers are commonly a cause of most joint pain.

Based on the discoveries of Drs. Janet Traveli and David Simons in which they found the casual relationship between chronic pain and its source, myofascial trigger point therapy is used to relieve muscular pain and dysfunction through applied pressure to trigger points of referred pain and through stretching exercises. These points are defined as localized areas in which the muscles and connective tissue are highly sensitive to pain when compressed. Pressure on these can send referred pain to other specific parts of the body.

There are six major areas of the body that we feel are key players in the human biomechanical chain. We call this “Ultimate 6” and we build upon this foundation by targeting these specific areas resulting in even greater efficiency of movement.
Fee: $70 + tax one-hour session, $50 + tax half-hour session

Semi private and small group sessions also available. All our Trainers are certified to teach Trigger Point.
